I.    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Under the direction of an experienced Logistician or Senior Logistician, researches documents and prepares manual and mechanized input for satisfying provisioning and outfitting contract requirements.

 

II.    POSITION DEMANDS
A.    High School graduate with minimum of 3 years’ experience in USN Supply or a related commercial discipline.
B.    Familiarization with military standards and directives dealing with provisioning, outfitting, and allowance documents.
C.    Computer literate.
D.    Familiarization with or knowledge in the use of Integrated Computer-Aided Provisioning System (ICAPS), or similar program.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be physically able to conduct ship checks of systems/equipment throughout the ship, possess close vision acuity, is required to sit, use hands, and to talk, and must be able to walk to all yard locations.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


III.    WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.  No supervision over others, some latitude in scheduling own activities and limited working level contacts with NASSCO and Government personnel.

 

IV.    PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A.    Reviews engineering drawings, technical manuals, purchase orders, bills of material, and other documents and extracts data required for provisioning, allowance preparation, and outfitting new construction, conversion, and repair of Navy and commercial ships.
B.    Inputs provisioning, allowance, and outfitting data into computerized management information systems.
C.    Performs sight validation of installed equipment to ensure it matches applicable documentation.
D.    Assists in the preparation of contract deliverables and reports, particularly for COSAL changes on Navy overhaul and repair contracts.
E.    Researches applicable data source, such as Haystack, for APLs, AELs, etc., for applicability to current contracts.
F.    Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.


V.    ACCOUNTABILITY
Responsible for timely completion of assigned tasks in order that deadline for submission of contract requirements can be met.

 

Pay Range:    $22.47 - $29.08 per hour

The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity.
