We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Temporary Servicess department. This position specifically is located in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for a Firewatch Coordinator.
Shift : ALL

GUIDELINES FOR FIREWATCH COORDINATOR
JOURNEYPERSON 4 (Firewatch Coordinator)
- Must meet all Journeyman Firewatch Coordinator 3 requirements.
- Must independently coordinate firewatch crew with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate daily production efforts with trade mechanics and safety personnel and provide assistance to other coordinators as needed.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize well and handle problems and concerns without assistance.
- Must have solid knowledge of math and Microsoft Excel and Word.
JOURNEYPERSON 3 (Firewatch Coordinator)
- Must meet all Journeyman Firewatch Coordinator 2 requirements.
- Coordinate daily production efforts with trade mechanics and safety personnel.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize well and handle problems and concerns with some assistance.
- Must have good knowledge of math and Microsoft Excel and Word.
JOURNEYPERSON 2 (Firewatch Coordinator)
- Must meet all Journeyman Firewatch Coordinator 1 requirements.
- Conduct shipboard project orientation of newly reporting personnel before assignment to include but not limited to radiation control, risk mitigation, work integration, safety, security and parking control.
- Coordinate daily production efforts with trade mechanics and safety personnel with some assistance.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize well and handle problems and concerns with assistance.
- Must have knowledge of math and Microsoft Excel and Word.
JOURNEYPERSON 1 (Firewatch Coordinator)
- Assist in coordination and monitoring of firewatch personnel on board the ship.
- Ensure reporting firewatches have proper certifications and training, for example, firewatch/respirator/OSHA 10 cards and applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ensure firewatch understand their duties and responsibilities.
- Assist in conducting shipboard project orientation of newly reporting personnel before assignment, to include but not limited to, radiation control, risk mitigation, work integration, safety, security and parking control.
- Ensure all firewatches are fully aware and follow established policies and procedures, including time keeping procedures.
- Conduct daily environmental, health and safety training for all assigned firewatches in accordance with monthly schedule.
- Assist in coordinating daily production efforts with trade mechanics and safety personnel.
- Maintain surveillance of firewatch personnel throughout the work day to ensure they are in their assigned work location and are mentally and physically capable of performing their duties in order to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Ensure firewatches are fully aware of emergency and shipboard emergency evacuation procedures, to include muster locations and accountability of personnel.
- Ensure that any fire incidents or accidents occurring during the shift are reported immediately to the supervisor and safety department representative.
- Perform duties of a Permit Authorizing Individual (PAI).
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize well.
- Must be able to read and write effectively, speak with clarity and listen actively.
- Must be able to work well with others.
- Must be able to perform their job safely.
- Must know what PPE to use and when.
- Must be able to navigate a ship and understand compartment designation.
- Must have basic knowledge of math and Microsoft Excel and Word.
