Purpose and Functions

    • Promote a positive and empathic support environment for the organization.
    • Respond to, triage, prioritize, troubleshoot and complete end-user support requests remotely and in the field.
    • Keep detailed records of the time spent working on support requests.  Document troubleshooting steps and solutions.
    • Effectively communicate with end-users and teammates.
    • Build, image, deploy, troubleshoot, diagnose and repair computers and mobile devices in the field.
    • Escalate support requests to the appropriate personnel as directed and/or required.
    • Account for inventory items assigned to end-users.  Be financially responsible with company assets.
    • Propose, lead, coordinate, participate in and complete IT projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned.

 

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

    • Customer Service
    • Client computer hardware and software
    • Cofiguring and supporting Windows client operating systems and Office programs
    • Windows server operating system concepts, capabilities, and protocols
    • Support and configuring client mobile devices
    • Networking concepts, capabilities and protocols
    • Basic printer setup, configuration and troubleshooting
    • Candidates typically have 0-5 years prior experience
    • Certification a plus 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Adhere and enforce the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Support a safe workign environment.  Wear appropriate PPE in all required areas.
  • Explains complex technical concepts to end-users and company decision makers.
  • Educate end-users on technology uses and best practices.
  • Effectively commnuicate with end-users and teammates.
  • Account for inventory items assigned to end-users and be financially responsible wtih company assets.
  • Protect company data by utilizing file system security, application access and cybersecurity tools.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Physical Requirements       

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.  The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects or controls, and to talk and hear.  The noise level is this environment is usually moderate. Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds and be physically able to walk to all yard locations.

 

Working Relationships

This position reports to the Help Desk Manager.  It is not a supervisory position.

 

Additional Requirements

Regular, reliable attendance on-site is an essential function of the job. Must be available to work outside of normal business hours to support Help Desk staffing requirements and to ensure systems are operational at all core hours with minimal impact on end computer system users. Must be able to have unescorted access to government facilities. Must be able to obtain access to government work locations.
