SUMMARY

 

Lead and coordinate talent acquisition strategies through utilizing best-practice initiatives and tactics to source, identify, attract and hire talent into the organization. Serve as subject matter expert sourcing and hiring professional-level employees and oversee Professional Development Program providing full-cycle recruitment services.  Collaborate with hiring managers, recruit and evaluate external and internal candidates and secure/analyze compensation data determined for job offers, promotions, and internal transfers. Responsible for effectively supporting and providing strategic guidance to the Hiring Managers with the selection and hiring of highly qualified personnel in synergy with the Talent Acquisition Specialist. Exercises discretion when prioritizing recruitment activities.  Interacts with all levels of employees, management, senior leadership, related service providers and vendors, and external candidates. Reports to Supervisor of Talent Acquisition.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

 

  • Lead talent acquisition strategy for sourcing and selecting candidates.  Coordinate recruitment, sourcing, and onboarding activities.
  • Serve as advisor to the business and a leader among peers.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders in customizing recruiting approach to achieve demand.
  • Determine participation level in recruitment events, career fairs, and college/university events. Manages and plans all local and out-of-state university/college recruiting trips.
  • Oversee the recruitment of interns and entry-level college graduates for the Professional Development Program.
  • Maintain sourcing plans to include social media, relationships with appropriate agencies and educational organizations.
  • Leverage recruiting expertise to influence internal stakeholders on highly complex decisions regarding the direction of recruitment strategies or company.
  • Drive alignment between company careers page to match recruiting objectives.
  • Leads the talent acquisition team by providing support and guidance
  • HR Lead for Continuous Improvement Initiatives that include, reporting metrics, participation in Cost Down Breakfast Club, and driving HR CI events.
  • Leads TA special projects and assignments.
  • Up to 25% travel is required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required and five to seven years of related work experience is required.
  • Recruiting and/or substantive public presentation experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or shipbuilding work environment is strongly preferred. High-volume recruiting experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of HR concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Demonstrated organizational and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize  changing demands
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications.  Experience with Success Factors ATS a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.  Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management. 
  • Fluent Spanish language ability, orally and written, preferred.
  • Familiarity with or ability to gain proficiency in the use of new technologies and/or media to augment recruiting and sourcing efforts.
  • Actively participates in implementing and monitoring continuous improvement initiatives to improve safety, improve quality, reduce cycle time, and reduce costs.
  • Commitment to the concepts, philosophy, and practices of continuous improvement.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects or controls, and talk and hear. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
