SUMMARY

Manages materials crane lifts, Subcontractor Lay-Down assignments, Pier traffic, Pier cleanliness, HAZMAT and Trash disposal.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

  • Ensure Pier is kept clean and containments are proper.
  • Manage material going aboard and coming off the Ship.
  • Manage HAZMAT on Pier, ensure proper labeling and disposal.
  • Serve as the Point of Contact for Ships Force, AIT’s, Sima, FitcPAC, for Services, Forklifts and Crane service.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFACTIONS

  • High School Graduate or equivalent, and two (2) year Cumulative trade and/or Production Control experience.
  • Knowledge of:
    • Material Delivery Procedures;
    • NASSCO Safety Policy;
    • Forklift Operation must have (or be able to obtain) a forklift license;
    • HAZMAT Training (or be able to obtain).
    • Physical Requirements including lifting up to 50lbs infrequently and walking throughout the shipyard. High noise levels and High-low ambient air temperatures.  Most time will be spent on cement pier.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to Ship Manager whose ship is at Pier; interfaces with Trades, Sub-Contractors, Navy, SWRMC Production, AIT’s, Suppliers, Environmental Agencies, SWRMC Safety Representative and OSHA.

 

 

ACCOUNTABILITY

Resolves Pier issues with parties concerned so that materials flow, environmental containment is 100% proper, HAZMAT is controlled and handled properly and timely and Pier cleanliness is always under control.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Lifting up to 50lbs infrequently and walking throughout the shipyard. High noise levels and High-low ambient air temperatures.  Most time will be spent on cement pier.

PAYSCALE: $51,300 - $73,600

 

This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
