SUMMARY

 

Designs and facilitates courses in leadership development. Monitors and reports the effectiveness of training. Involved in program design in conjunction with other trainers or instructional designer. Conducts needs assessments and recommends next steps that may include training. Supports training and development at all NASSCO facilities as required.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

 

  • Conducts training needs analyses and formulates training and/or other strategies to meet identified needs and corporate objectives. Works as required in partnership with colleagues when situations warrant solutions outside of training.
  • Effectively prepares course objectives, outlines, lesson plans, handouts, and other instructional material.
  • Leads and facilitates leadership training classes to ensure effective utilization of students' time.
  • Manages logistics for leadership development programs and activities, including venues and equipment.
  • Interfaces with other members of the department to ensure comprehensive and timely responses to training issues.
  • Coordinates training functions with supervisor. Assists in establishing and assigning training schedules and monitors student progress to ensure course completion dates are met.
  • Assists with the development of leadership development programs and consistently manages programs for maximum effectiveness.
  • Evaluates business initiatives to determine the appropriate development interventions needed to meet organizational goals.
  • Coordinates with various business units, vendors, and consultants to research and identify materials needed for training course development and implementation.
  • Interfaces with business units to assure that department is knowledgeable of product changes or modifications and incorporates them into new or existing training programs.
  • Maintains lines of communication across the organization to encourage the flow of information needed to keep courses current.
  • Revises course content to reflect changes in processes, procedures, corporate issues, and strategy.
  • Tracks attendance and feedback for courses and generates reports from collected data.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, I/O Psychology, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Two years instructor-led facilitation experience.
  • Project management skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills (i.e., speaking to groups) and ability to effectively deliver course material to all levels within the organization.
  • May lead the work of others within the department.
  • Acts as in internal expert on development issues in coordination with Employee Relations department. Visits departments on a periodic basis to promote understanding and cooperation.
  • Ensures equipment is functioning properly and training facilities are maintained in an orderly and professional manner.
  • Identifies and implements strategies to facilitate continuous process improvement.
  • Performs a variety of complicated tasks related to assigned areas of expertise.
  • Cross-trains to teach other training courses on an as needed basis.
  • Strong attention to detail.
 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

The essential functions of this role are performed in an office setting. The role requires prolonged periods of working in a stationary position, operating a computer, computer programs, and standard office equipment necessary to perform the essential duties. The role requires perceiving information and communicating effectively with others in person, online, and on the phone

 

 

PAY SCALE

$83,000 - $110,200

 

This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
