SUMMARY

 

Supervises a professional staff of business application specialist, data scientists, and programmers whose mission is the cost-effective analysis, design, development, implementation, testing and support of NASSCO’s Financial, ERP, and Timekeeping system.  Advises NASSCO IT Management and other managers on system integration and business intelligence system issues.  Reports to the Manager, Business Solutions. Works with system users and effectively communicates to the management teams in Finance, Operations and HR. Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that NASSCO SAP ECC 6 FICO Module is properly maintained, and its user base is supported.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

 

  • Develops, supervises, and mentors a team of technical professionals. Ensures that the team works efficiently and brings value to the organization.
  • Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and coordinates work among direct reports.

  • Manages SAP ECC FICO Module, maintains and provides support as needed
  • Oversees projects to initiation to completion, ensure that requirements/goals are met and is delivered as per plan
  • Partners with business stakeholders across the NASSCO organization to address business needs, provides status on issues and solution, and is the IT point of contact
  • Provides management with status and updates on projects, issue and resolution, and overall health of the applications
  • Provides inputs to department budget
  • Develops plans for system upgrades, enhancements, and expansion, including cost justification analysis
  • Monitors, assesses, and optimizes the value delivered by our deployed solutions. Ensures that solutions are delivered with the best user experience in mind.
  • Ensures that appropriate methodology is used and consistently followed by staff.
  • Develops and makes advisory presentations to management regarding system integration issues
  • Performs technical tasks as necessary to achieve group objectives
  • Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field and 10 years of experience, or 15 years of directly applicable experience.  Master’s degree highly desirable.
  • Functional and technical knowledge and experience SAP ECC FICO Module
  • Experience with SAP Transport Management System, creation of OSS Notes and ABAP knowledge is preferred
  • Demands a broad understanding of IT systems, language, data base navigation and SQL experience
  • Mastered the skill of problem solving
  • Experience with supervising technical professionals is preferred.
  • Demonstrates ability and motivation for mentoring and talent development.
  • Must have project managed multiple projects from conception to launch
  • Ability to facilitate meetings, resolve conflicts, and foster a productive team environment
  • Ability to develop and foster productive relationships with leadership teams across the company and with external vendors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization are required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 

    While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to fingers, handle or fell objects, or controls, and to talk and hear.

    Must be physically able to work to all yard locations.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
